3 weeks later...
In a sweet turn of events....
The scheduler was new to us.... and she couldn't find an appointment on a Monday for Scott... or Tuesday, so she schedules him for a Wednesday. Which meant he was able to enjoy Canadian Thanksgiving - and we did it well! While the Butter Tarts were not able to make the dessert table, we had enough. Fresh Irish Apple Crumble, Tiramisu, Pumpkin Pie and Nanaimo Style Alabama Bars (Thank you Emma, Corner Gas). It was a great meal he could taste.
Scott has 1 more Treatment and he is counting the days. He rests a lot. Sunday is a great example. He may or may not sleep Saturday Night. He will go to church and then eat lunch. By 1pm he's ready to sleep 3+ hours. Chemo brain is a real thing and will be grateful for it to go away. In other news, this is time together that we would have never taken for ourselves. We have been forced to face our souls (mind, will and emotions) and find out what we really believe about health and healing. Do we trust God to provide for us? It's brought our family unit closer together.
And then there's Clawde. Formally, Kevin Jonas, Clawde Monet joined our family 2 weeks ago. Long story short, we have not had pets. I wasn't sure I had the bandwideth as managing a home is a task for me. However, the conversation has always been there - are we going to have a pet? Welp. Fall Break Lizzie asked if we could go look at cats and dog with her friends.
He's perfect for us and brought a fun excitement to the home.
